Guilin Season and Weather

Assalamualaikum dan selamat sejahtera to all my blog readers ,

Beautiful of Two Lake Four River

Guilin Season (source from HERE)

 Spring
Spring, early March to middle April, is mostly sunny. At this time, northern China is still silvered with snow or frost, but Guilin has been full of tinges of spring – colorful flowers and green willows compete with each other for beauty of looks. Sometimes, there are spring drizzles, but something lighter like T-shirts with a raincoat will be comfortable. If you visiting there in spring, rain wear is also must.

 Summer
Guilin’s summer from late April to mid-August is a rainy season especially in May and June. The rainfall in summer reaches up to 1,000 mm, making up over 50% of the total rainfall per year. Always remember to bring an umbrella with you if you go there at this time. However, visiting there in rain and fog may make you feel as graceful as a fairy. It would be a great pity if you haven't enjoyed the misty rain of Li River during your Guilin travel. T-shirts with skirts, shorts or slacks are the best choice for summer when the temperature can be rather high. It would be wise to bring sun block with you, some medicine to prevent heatstroke and insect repellant Local herbal tea also helps travelers to become accustomed to the local weather and water.

 Autumn
Autumn, the golden season to visit that area, usually starts from late August and ends at the end of October. At this period of time, it is mostly clear and cool, and the water in the Li River is as smooth as a glass. So it is a best time to enjoy the reflections of the mountains. Comfortable, casual and light clothes such as long-sleeved T-shirts or shirts plus thin jackets would be enough.

 Winter
Winter in Guilin is from November to February when the whole city is covered with blossoming sweet-scented osmanthus giving off its fragrance everywhere. Traveling there in winter, you just have to take some spring and autumn clothes with one or two lightweight winter wear like thermal underwear and woolen sweaters. Snow is rare in that city, but there is the chance to enjoy the winter snow in or on the top of the mountains around the city during the coldest time before or after the Chinese Spring Festival.

Guilin Weather by month

Guilin Weather in January
January, the coldest month in Guilin, has occasional drizzles, cold spells and frosts, but with little snow. The temperature usually stays between 0-10'C(2-50'F)so the Li River doesn't freeze. However, Guilin is near the mountains and has many rivers and lakes, so it may feel colder than what the temperature actually appears. Sometimes, strong winds also attacks the city in combination with cold spells which creates a piercing coldness due to the high humidity in the air.

Generally, it is the off-peak season, so special discounts are available for tourist attractions, hotels, restaurants and air travel, and out of season the city is less crowded. However, if the Chinese Spring Festival takes place during this month, Guilin could be busier which means prices will rise considerably, and advance reservations are necessary. Thus, the travel prices will rise considerably, and advance reservations are necessary. If it happens to be a warm winter, you will have a chance to enjoy the enchanting Li River in fog and drizzle.

The water in the Li River becomes deep enough for a cruise ship to pass through. Thus, Guilin comes to its tourist season gradually. Restaurants, hotels, tourist attractions and related industries are ready for the coming crowd, and most of them raise their prices at this time.

As spring advances, trees turn green. Various flowers bloom all over the parks, squares, mountains, dales and riversides. The Li River is also not to be left behind, presenting its most splendid beauty of the year with the cool weather, green scenery and mountain mists.

Normally, the temperature stays between 18-25 'C (64-77'F), very comfortable for outdoor activities. The weather records show that May is usually the most humid month of the year, with the most rainy days and the highest rainfall.
